Our very own Amy Rubin is hitting the road to show you all the inside stories, unscripted interviews, and spontaneous moments of the campaign trail. She'll talk with the campaigns, the candidates, and - most important - the people who know what's really at stake in these elections. We call it the Road to Victory. Have an idea for what city Amy should go to next? Want to send some ideas for landmarks to visit in your state? Have some questions you'd like her to ask the candidates? Send them to roadtovictory@dscc.org.

At home with Jeanne Shaheen by Amy Rubin, DSCC (Tue Jul 22 2008 00:00:00 GMT-0400 (EDT))

After my time with the Tom Allen campaign, I drove south from Bangor, Maine for about 3 hours and ended up in Madbury, New Hampshire – home of Governor Jeanne Shaheen. Watch Gov. Shaheen in the video below as she explains her home’s “passive solar design” and why it’s so important to have a government that encourages and makes it easier for people to conserve energy.

On to Maine by Amy Rubin, DSCC (Tue Jul 01 2008 15:19:00 GMT-0400 (EDT))

Over the last few days I've talked to some Mainers about the more confusing aspects of Senator Susan Collins' campaign for re-election.

Check out the video below and see what Mainers have to say about how Senator Collins' claims stack up against reality.

Udall Mashup by Amy Rubin, DSCC (Thu Jun 05 2008 18:41:00 GMT-0400 (EDT))

Below is a mashup of some of my favorite moments and stories from the last couple of days that I spent on the road with the Udall campaign. Everyone on the campaign was working overtime to make sure the events went smoothly and in the midst of all the insanity and sleep deprivation we somehow found time time to swap mountain climbing stories, eat some amazing tamales and hear some pretty entertaining Tom and Mark Udall stories. Check out the clip below for a quick mashup from the last few days:

Pikes Peak by Amy Rubin, DSCC (Tue Jun 03 2008 12:27:00 GMT-0400 (EDT))

You might have seen our first video about Colorado Republican Bob Schaffer's Pikes Peak problems.  I guess you could call this part two:

Green before it was cool by Amy Rubin, DSCC (Mon Jun 02 2008 16:33:00 GMT-0400 (EDT))

From pretty much the first second I met Congressman Mark Udall he was pointing out mountains, mesas and buttes explaining the differences and making me promise I'd go explore before I left the state. Traveling across the state with him was incredibly educational - he not only knows every mountain in Colorado, he's also climbed a ton of them.

When I asked people about Congressman Udall, the first thing most people talked about is his life long commitment to the environment and the development of a real renewable energy resource. You can tell after just a few minutes with him that it's not only about ending America's addiction to foreign oil, but it's also about preserving our land and understanding the value of the environment we live in. The rally in Denver at metro taxi - a Denver cab company with a fleet of hybrid cabs - did a great job of highlighting the Congressman's passion for the environment, as well as his specific plans to make Colorado a leader in the fight to end global warming.
