  • Failed conservative policies  |   Fri Jan 29 2010 21:14:42 GMT-0500 (EST)  |  by Donna
Plain and simple: We cannot return to the failed conservative policies that put us in this mess.
  • Filibuster?  |   Fri Jan 29 2010 19:31:26 GMT-0500 (EST)  |  by Greyguy
Let's get rid of the filibuster. Enough of Free Speech and hearing different points of view. Honest discussion about a pending bill is valid, but trying to stop a bill, primarily by one party or the other is a terrible was of time and money. Whose money? The taxpayers' money is expended paying the salaries of men/women that are bent on stopping thoughtful consideration. Congressional members stealing from you and me should be a crime.
  • Republicans in Congress  |   Fri Jan 29 2010 19:13:16 GMT-0500 (EST)  |  by Greyguy
Perhaps it would be wise to survey constituents for each Congressional Republican to determine it they actually voted as their constituents wanted. Since, it seems, that a vast majority of the American public wants health care reform, make the names public of those congressional Republicans that have not voted as a majority of their constituents wanted. Since they value their jobs, I would expect that they will begin to break rank and vote for the bill.

Every bill presented by Dems has been loaded up with tons of amendments.. As I understand it, all of these amendments must be addressed and voted on giving the Republicans an opportunity stop any and all legislation by FILIBUSTER,and present no alternative.solution .Dems can't pass a good headthcare bill when the lobbyists $$ convinced $$ them to drop the public option and continue to burden employers with the respcnsibility of solving America's healthcare problems. Contact your Democratic legislator and remind them to stand up against Republican obstructionists People are angry about thier lack of courage against these Bullies who pretend that everything was O K , until President Obama was sworn in on Jan. 20, 2009!
  • what happened to change?  |   Fri Jan 29 2010 13:55:54 GMT-0500 (EST)  |  by jalbertini
All I see are Dems hiding from any REAL Change.
Obama won't give the command to repeal Don't ask, don't tell - he doesn't need Congress - He's commander in chief!
Bush tax cuts for the wealthy not repealed
    Gitmo not closed
    Iraq not out yet
    Medicare for ALL seems dead
Banksters get bonuses instead of prison
What change have they accomplished with their huge majority.
50 votes + Biden can pass ANY bill!!!
  • lobbyists  |   Thu Jan 28 2010 18:37:12 GMT-0500 (EST)  |  by William601
WOW, within less than 24 hours after Mr Obama said no lobbyists, he is on the phone or email talking about fund raising with them. Is that telling us the truth Mr Obama???? I guess character does not matter
  • Moving Forward  |   Thu Jan 28 2010 18:01:47 GMT-0500 (EST)  |  by Brave New World Girl
I am so excited to see the Democratic base fired up and ready to go again! Remember, it is so much easier to be negative and say no to everything - reminiscent of a tired toddler throwing a tantrum. But that doesn't have to be how Americans are represented - vote 'em out just like in 2008! Yes we can win again so let's get to work!
  • lobbiests  |   Thu Jan 28 2010 17:36:50 GMT-0500 (EST)  |  by
Mr Obama said he is not working with lobbyists?? Why are there more than 30 under his thumb??? Another lie as stated. Why do people continue to support Mr Obamas agendas????
  • slowing process  |   Thu Jan 28 2010 17:19:32 GMT-0500 (EST)  |  by
Can't believe the last post. If anybody is slowing up the process, its the dems. Since they controlled the House and Senate, they still can't pass this wonderful health bill nobody has read. They can't get their own party together. What is wrong with this picture???? Why are the republicans getting blamed for slowing the process of passing health care. You dems get a life
  • Why do Republicans act like venemous snakes  |   Thu Jan 28 2010 17:04:05 GMT-0500 (EST)  |  by ronton WI
For people that watched President Obamas speech and saw republicans reactions you can actually see what side is holding up progress in Washington.Plus it also shows that they will stop at nothing to get power again no matter at what price and who it may hurt or what they have to say or do.If democrats do not get wise about these tactics the republicans continue to press and wage a war of fairness for the American people. All of our hope and dreams could fall by the wayside starting this November. What can we do about it?Answer. We can open the floodgates of emails and phone calls and letters calling for action now not tommorrow to all cogressmen and women and senators in your home state. If you are readying this right now.Look up your senators and congressmen and woman now. Time is not on our side unless we act now
From the Chairman
DSCC Chairman Sen. Robert Menendez gives his take on recent events and how they affect the November elections.
